According to a report from House Republicans, the federal government, disinformation “experts” at universities, Big Tech, and others worked together through the Election Integrity Partnership to monitor and censor Americans’ speech.
Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote in a thread on X, formerly known as Twitter:
"[Election Integrity Partnership] EIP "stakeholders" (including the federal government) would submit misinformation reports. [EIP] would [then] "analyze" the report and find similar content across platforms. EIP would submit the report to Big Tech, often with a recommendation on how to censor."
These findings follow the information divulged in the Twitter Files, spearheaded by journalist and researcher Matt Taibbi, as well as others including Michael Shellenberger.
Jordan continued in his thread, "House Judiciary GOP and the Weaponization Committee obtained these nonpublic documents and information from Stanford only after the threat of contempt. You can read all the details in the report here:"
He then went on to list who was targeted. Former President Donald J. Trump was first on the list, followed by a plethora of others including Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist, Paul Sperry, and James O'Keefe.
Jim Jordan (R-OH) made it a point to mention which forms of speech were censored: "True information; Jokes; Political opinions." He then provided examples, including a then-tweet from President Trump that read, "Georgia Counties Using Same Software as Michigan Counties Also Encounter 'Glitch' with an article from Breitbart News.
