Many predict the former Featherweight and Lightweight Champion will soon announce a presidential run in Ireland.
In addition to becoming the first UFC fighter to hold UFC championships in two weight classes simultaneously, McGregor is a businessman and actor.
The fighter was joined in the Oval Office by his fiancée Dee Devlin and their four children: Conor Jr., Croía, Rían, and Mack.

McGregor's visit was celebrated among White House staff and members of Trump's cabinet on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
During his time in the White House briefing room, McGregor addressed questions and his reasoning for traveling to the United States:
McGregor said he came to Washington to raise issues that Ireland faces (including illegal immigration).
.@TheNotoriousMMA is in D.C. to raise issues that Ireland faces (including illegal immigration). "Our government abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland. Our money is being spent overseas on issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people."

In a statement that some might say references the Department of Government Efficiency, otherwise known as "DOGE", McGregor spoke of Ireland:
"Our government abandoned the voices of the people. Our money is being spent overseas on issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people."
He also made a comparison between the United States and Ireland as siblings:
"Ireland and America, we are siblings. It’s important for Ireland to be a peaceful and prosperous country for 40 million Irish Americans to have a place to visit, to come home."
"We wish for our relationship with the U.S. to continue. The U.S. should look after its little bro."
McGregor later told Trump that he viewed the President's work ethic "inspiring."
