Comedian Jerry Seinfeld blames the Left and 'PC crap' for ruining comedy

In a recent episode of David Remnick's "The New Yorker Radio Hour," comedic icon Jerry Seinfeld blamed the “extreme Left” and political correctness "PC crap" for ruining comedy.

Seinfeld said, "Nothing really affects comedy. People always need it. They need it so badly, and they don't get it. It used to be that you would go home at the end of the day, and people would go, "Oh, 'Cheers' is on, oh, 'M.A.S.H.' is on. Oh, 'Mary Tyler Moore' is on. 'All in the Family' is on. You just expected, there'll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight."

"Well, guess what? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap, and people worried so much about offending other people."

"When you write a script, and it goes into five different hands, committees, or groups. "Here's our thought, about this joke." Well, that's the end of your comedy."

"They moved the gates, like in skiing. Culture--the gates are moving. Your job is to be agile and clever enough that wherever they put the gates, I'm gonna make the gate."

Seinfeld will appear in an upcoming movie, “Unfrosted,” which is loosely based on the creation of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.

In a single interview, Jerry Seinfeld may have won the perpetual debate over 'Seinfeld' or 'Friends'.

Editor's note: I am personally excited for this Pop-Tarts movie, as I am an avid Pop-Tart fan.
