Female juror in Trump hush money trial dismissed after bursting into tears

Day 4 of Donald J. Trump's criminal "hush money" trial is underway in New York City. Trump is being accused of having a sexual encounter with Stormy Daniels, allegedly paying her to be silent about it, and then disguising those payments as a business expense. This allegation comes contrary to evidence that has been presented, including a letter from Stormy Daniels herself, denying the affair.

The former president has to sit inside inside Manhattan Supreme Court with a jury of 12 Manhattanites, plus one alternate, who was picked Thursday.

According to the The New York Post, a new pool of 22 prospective jurors are being screened today, as the court looks for five more alternates. Opening arguments in the case are set to start next week.

On Friday, the New York Post reported that one female juror was dismissed after bursting into tears shortly after Executive Assistant District Attorney Susan Hoffinger began addressing a pool of 18 possible jurors during voir dire.

"I thought I could do this, but I don't know," she said. "This is much more stressful than I thought it was going to be."
