Former President Trump is bringing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard onto his presidential transition team, according to a Trump campaign senior adviser.

Gabbard and Kennedy, both onetime Democratic presidential candidates, will reportedly have an official role in helping prepare for a possible second Trump administration.

They both endorsed the former president within the last week.

"As President Trump's broad coalition of supporters and endorsers expands across partisan lines, we are proud that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard have been added to the Trump/Vance Transition team," Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement.

"We look forward to having their powerful voices on the team as we work to restore America's greatness."

The New York Times first reported on Trump's plans to name Kennedy and Gabbard to his transition team.

Kennedy told Tucker Carlson in an interview aired Monday that he had been asked to join Trump's transition team and that he's "looking forward to that."

Kennedy, who suspended his presidential campaign last week and threw his support behind Trump, has said that he is working to "get Trump elected."

Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in 2022 following her unsuccessful 2020 presidential bid, endorsed Trump on Monday.

The former president has already named two of his biggest donors, Linda McMahon and Howard Lutnick, to be the co-chairs of his transition team tasked with preparing for a possible Trump return to the White House.

His two eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are serving as honorary chairs of the transition team.
